Sarana VerLin is a three time winner of the Detroit Metro Times Music Awards, and for that reason is in the Detroit Metro Times Music Hall of Fame.
VerLin has performed and recorded with grammy award winner Don Was, producer Steve King (Eminem, 50 Cent, Romantics), Greg Apro of Rhythm Corps, Niagara, Art Lyzak (Mutants), Joe Hayden (Aretha Franklin), Ivan Suvanjieff of Peacejam, Beaux (BloodScrubbed), Cristina, and Robb Roy.
This multi-talented musician also plays guitar, mandolin, and keyboards. Throughout the eighties she performed in punk and rock groups, primarily with her own band Natasha in which she was lead singer/songwriter as well as violinist. After their first record release, Natasha toured US cities throughout the midwest/eastern states and Canada as well as having a loyal Detroit area following. Their popularity was boosted by numerous tv/radio appearances and press in both the US and Europe.
Other bands she performed with after Natasha disbanded include Dark Carnival (which was made up of a rotating cast of Detroit musicians, including Ron & Scott Ashton and Jim Carroll) and League of Nations. |
