Manchester born singer Wayne Devlin is a jazz, swing vocalist who has been likened to a young Frank Sinatra. He has travelled the world singing his way from Sweden to Las Vegas, with his own unique take on the Great American Songbook.
He has now returned to Manchester and has set up home with his beautiful girlfriend Val who he will marry on 14/07/07.

WAYNE DEVLIN HAS HIS OWN VOICE
What is it about the music of Frank Sinatra . . . you hear the first words of lyrics of any Frank Sinatra song, and people automatically start a comparison. Vocalists choosing this genre of music will always feel they have to fill those shoes. No, there will never be another Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis, the list goes on. The songs these singers brought to us will live forever, the lyrics are hard to beat, timeless, classic, they will always touch the heart of every listener. Everyone relates to the lyrics of these beautiful songs.
But let’s try and find music for now, for the generation living now. Wayne Devlin is not Sinatra, is not Martin, is not Elvis, Wayne Devlin is himself. He has his own sound. He has a voice that is beautiful, smooth, and the talent to interpret the lyrics all on his own and does so with great expertise.
You hear “Summer Wind,” “Tender Trap,” and “Witchcraft,” and you automatically think “Sinatra,” but before long, you aren’t thinking “Sinatra,” you are thinking “this guy has a voice!” You’ve forgotten Sinatra. The soft caressing vocals are smooth and compelling to draw you in and make you want to listen more. The interpretation of the lyrics comes from within his heart and soul, the emotion the listener feels is similar to the wooing of Dean’s tender seductive charisma, you’re drawn in, you’re captivated, but again Devlin is not Dean . . . Devlin is his own force.
If we are to continue to let the music of a beloved bygone remain alive, we have to give the up-and-coming vocalists attempting to interpret and deliver in their own style the opportunity to bring us great music of TODAY, NOW. The greats of the past will always have honour and respect in our memories, but let’s give something to today’s music and today’s generation. Experience and enjoy the talent of Wayne Devlin; he has a voice that cannot and should not be unrecognized.
