Meet THE wHORROR
Formed in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, THE wHORROR is a Goth-Metal band with one clear objective: to tear the world a new one. The show is theatrical, the music is heavy, and the songs are melodic and memorable.
Guitarist Darren Michael Boyd has spent most of his life touring, writing and recording for an assortment of Canadian metal bands, with varying degrees of success. With frustration came realization; it was finally time to create the band he always wanted to be a part of. Consequently, in 2007 THE wHORROR was hatched.
After countless months of searching for the right vocalist, fate intervened and a random Facebook message gave Darren Christina “Scary Poppins” Kevins. The two instantly hit it off and felt a sense of artistic completion. Darren’s lyrics are insightful, graphic, downright macabre, and occasionally loaded with dark humor. Christina’s sense of melody and hauntingly pretty voice compliment the aggressive musical style. The belligerent tone of Darren’s guitar playing pays tribute to the metal monsters he grew up listening to, while quite literally screaming individuality.
The live adaptation of THE wHORROR also includes new members; Bass player JP Proulx, and Drummer Nick Chopz.
The Demo version of Blue-Eyed Suicide has been receiving airplay on College, Internet and mainstream radio stations across Canada and the United States, with great public response. THE wHORROR is in the recording studio at the present time completing tracks for their upcoming independent CD release “Creeping Beauty”.
A 3-song sample CD entitled "Tested on Animals" is available in very limited numbers for $5 + $2 S&H. Each copy will by signed by the band.
