| Yaya Diallo, born 1946 in the village of Fienso, Mali, West Africa received the African People's Intercontinental Award for Entertainer of the Year Award--2005 - presented in Washington, DC. An internationally known musician, author ("The Healing Drum"), teacher, chemist, guide to Mali and founder of traditional West African cultural centers Yaya Diallo presently teaches traditional African music and dance at the Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY where he resides. An initiate in traditional West African village culture and a graduate of the University of Montreal Yaya Diallo shares his heritage of traditional African music, dance and knowledge with keen insight into the past, present and future of Africa.
