Info on Yellowish!
Highly acclaimed indiepop from Aarhus, Denmark.
Yellowish made their debut in 2004 with the album
Solid Ground, an album that received nothing but
splendid reviews across Europe.
In Denmark the 1. single went strait into number one
on the national, alternative chart “Det Elektriske Barometer”
and into rotation on P3 and DR Electric.
Subsequently the band was asked to appear live at
Danish national Radio P3 and was soon described as
“one of Denmark’s leading indiepop bands”
Now 2 years after, the band is back with a new album
entitled So Bright. Produced by Ziggy (Illdisposed, Mercenary,
Nephew etc.) and mixed by the new, leading,
Danish producer Carsten Heller (Newphew, Spleen
United etc.).
The style is a mix of tight indierock and swirling
dramatic soundscapes. One moment it’s airy
and dreamy the next it’s dark and descending.
So Bright surely is a worthy followup and it fully shows
the talent that Yellowish is capable of, with
2 leading vocals in beautiful unity, supported by a strong
and tight rythme group.
The 1. single ”This Is My Direction” has already been
in rotation on Danish radiostations and the
next two singles “Unite” and “Awake” beares widness
of a promissing future for the 4-piece Aarhus act.
Subsequently the band has now been asked to play a
showcase at Scandinavien biggest business platform
for music, The SPOT festival.
The new album was released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
the 27th of april through Broken Silence.
